MMA going better than bobsledding for Herschel Walker
Suffice to say Herschel Walker is doing better in MMA than he did when he tried his hand at bobsledding.
The former Heisman Trophy winner and two-time Pro Bowl performer won his second career fight on Saturday night, knocking out Scott Carson in the first round of a Strikeforce bout in San Jose, Calif.
Walker used a left hook to drop Carson, according to Yahoo! Sports, and then roughed him up on the mat for two minutes before the fight was called. Walker’s MMA debut was last January.
“MMA is my love," the 48-year-old Walker said when he was asked about an improbable attempt at an NFL return.
"I was okay. I took a kick where I thought I was getting a little too excited," Walker said. "When you're in MMA, you should be able to take a kick like that."
To go far in MMA, Walker is going to need to fight more often than twice every 13 months. We’ll see where this goes.
