Mom wants Harbaugh Bowl to end in a tie

Jackie Harbaugh, the mother of San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh, is hoping Thursday night's Harbaugh Bowl between her sons' teams can end in a tie.

"If it ends in a tie, wouldn't that be wonderful?" said Jackie Harbaugh in an informative piece on the impending family feud, written by Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times.

The Harbaughs' father, Jack, who coached for 43 years himself and won a national championship in Division I-AA at Western Kentucky, said he will not attend the game at M&T Bank Stadium. Instead, he will arrive pre-game, wish both his boys well, and then leave to watch the game on TV.

The game itself, while intriguing because of the family affair, won't be easy on John, 49, and Jim, 47, who indicated that they are not only brothers, but best friends who would never normally pull against the other.

The only thing tougher for the Harbaugh family's split loyalties than Thursday night's game would be if somehow both contending teams met for a rematch in the Super Bowl.
