Mornhinweg added to Raiders' candidate list
Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg is now a candidate to interview for the Oakland Raiders head coaching vacancy, says NFL.com.
Mornhinweg's name has also been connected to the Indianapolis Colts, where former Eagles front office exec Ryan Grigson finally pulled the trigger and fired Jim Caldwell on Tuesday.
Mornhinweg, by transforming Michael Vick into more of a consistent passing quarterback, has rehabilitated his image to the point where his name is being mentioned for head coaching vacancies in the NFL again.
Mornhinweg once famously took the wind after winning the coin toss to start overtime while coach of the Detroit Lions, and seemingly would never see his name in the running for a head coaching vacancy again.
But after successfully working with Vick, he is once again under consideration for a second go-around as an NFL head coach.
New Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie has plenty of candidates on his radar, including Miami Dolphins interim coach Todd Bowles, Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, Green Bay Packers linebackers coach Winston Moss and Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers.
