Movie meets reality as Stubblefield sentenced to jail

In this instance, what happened in the movies became reality.

Former Kansas and San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Dana Stubblefield, who once played the role of a prisoner in the 2000 Ehren Kruger film Reindeer Games, has been sentenced to jail.

Stubblefield, the NFL defensive player of the year in 1997, was sentenced to 90 days behind bars for stealing his ex-girlfriend’s mail, according to the Sacramento Bee. Stubblefield had admitted to submitting a change of address form so the ex-girlfriend’s mail would be delivered to him. He then collected her unemployment checks.

The 40-year-old Stubblefield was on probation for lying to investigators about using steroids during his playing days. Hopefully, he will avoid fights in prison, something he was unable to do in the movie.
