MRSA scare increases in Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acknowledged that a third player on the team has contracted MRSA since the beginning of training camp. According to Ian Rapaport of NFL Network, cornerback Johnathan Banks is the latest player to get an infection.
This came the same week after guard Carl Nicks was found to have a recurrence of MRSA in his foot. Nicks and kicker Lawrence Tynes, who is out for the season, were found to have MRSA during training camp. The team did extensive treatment of its facility during August.
This news is particularly disheartening for the 0-4 team because Nicks was considered vital to turning around the moribund offense. After signing the most lucrative contract ever for a guard in 2012, Nicks has missed 11 of 20 games because of injuries and infection.
