Ndamukong Suh finds side work in Gumball 3000
Ndamukong Suh is going to do his best Terry Bradshaw impersonation – think “Cannonball Run” – and join the Gumball 3000 this year.
That’s the international road race that can lead to arrests, accidents, parties and mayhem.
Ubisoft announced that Suh, the reigning defensive rookie of the year from the Detroit Lions, will participate as a celebrity driver in a 2011 Dodge Challenger racing through more than 10 countries.
“Since I’m temporarily unemployed, I need to find ways to keep my competitive juices flowing, so I’ve partnered with Ubisoft and their DRIVER San Francisco video game to race a car in the Gumball 3000”, Suh said in a release. “I think my racing style will be similar to that of Driver, exploring the open-world environment, but hopefully not damaging my car as much as I do when I play the game.”
Competitive racing is forbidden in standard NFL contracts. As a “celebrity driver,” surely Suh will protect himself from such dangers. Otherwise, forget a speeding ticket, he could find himself in hot water with the Lions.
