Near fight apparent reason for Davis being inactive

The unusual "non-injury" reason for Miami Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis being declared inactive for Sunday's game wtih the Kansas City Chiefs stems from an altercation between Davis and teammate Brandon Marshall, according to NFL.com.

A source told Jeff Darlington of NFL.com that Davis needed to be restrained after Marshall began "talking (trash) and crossed the line," and that, "Vontae was about to rip his head off."

The incident did ot result in any punches being thrown, but the report indicated that Davis told some people that he believed he was not making the trip to Kansas City because of the confrontation. However, another team source, said that was not the reason and that Davis"knows exactly" why he did not go on the trip.

According to the report, sources close to Marshall had not heard about the altercation. Marshall made the trip with the Dolphins to Kansas City.
