NFL Twitter account hacked with false Tweet about Roger Goodell
The NFL's Twitter account got hacked.
A false tweet was posted saying that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell had died, writing: "We regret to inform our fans that our commissioner, Roger Goodell, has passed away. He was 57. #RIP."
The Tweet was deleted.
Law enforcement is investigating.
"We have engaged law enforcement to look into the matter," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said. "We are reviewing and strengthening our cyber-security measures."
Goodell is alive and well.
