NFL zaps two Cardinals with fines for hits to the head
The Arizona Cardinals had some fines piled on to an already bad week that started with Monday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Offensive tackle Jeremy Bridges was fined $20,000 for striking an opponent in the head/neck area according to Darren Urban, who writes for the team’s Web site. Per Urban, the infraction drew an unnecessary roughness penalty, the fifth Bridges has gotten since the beginning of last season.
Bridges wasn’t the only one popped by the league. Linebacker Clark Haggans picked up a $10,000 fine. He was disciplined for the same thing, a hit to the head/neck area.
