Nick Fairley injures knee in Lions win

Though the Detroit Lions were able to get a big comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons, they could have potentially lost defensive tackle Nick Fairley for quite some time.

Fairley injured his knee, which appeared to bend backwards, during Detroit's 22-21 victory. Fairley was carted off of the field. After the game, Lions coach Jim Caldwell didn't seem optimistic about Fairley's status moving forward.

"I'm not quite certain where he is right now," coach Jim Caldwell said, via MLive.com. "But obviously, when you're carried off the field, it's not the greatest news. We'll see what the doctors say about him."

Fairley didn't record any statistics against the Falcons in London but has 14 total tackles and one sack this season. He's an important part to the defensive front and would be a huge loss if he's unable to play the remainder of this season.
