No answers yet for Jeremy Maclin mystery
The announcement regarding the status of Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and an update on his health condition was supposed to come by Tuesday night.
Instead, the mystery surrounding the talented performer only continued.
Neither the club nor Maclin’s family had anything to say about the former Missouri star who has missed all of training camp while battling an unidentified or yet-to-be-announced illness. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, general manager Howie Roseman told 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia that the team expects Maclin to return from St. Louis soon. He reportedly went to his hometown last week in order to visit with more doctors.
“We totally anticipate Jeremy being part of our football team," Roseman said. "We anticipate him being back here shortly, with us when we get back to NovaCare."
Per the report, Maclin’s brother told the Sporting News an announcement on Maclin would come Tuesday. Andy Reid said he is optimistic Maclin will be ready for the season opener, but it’s pretty evident the team is still a bit in the dark on what’s actually going on.
"We're still waiting on the tests to come in,” Reid said. “Then we'll be able to get you that information.”
