No new deal coming for Chargers safety Eric Weddle
Veteran safety Eric Weddle won't be getting a new contract from the San Diego Chargers.
He was told the team isn't going to sign him to a new deal.
Weddle has been staying away from workouts.
Weddle, 30, will be a free agent next year.
Weddle is scheduled to make $7.5 million this year in the final year of a five-year, $40 million deal.
Weddle led the team with 114 tackles last season and had one interception.
