No word yet when Eli Manning will be back in action

Eli Manning made his way back to New York Giants training camp in Albany, N.Y., sporting a nifty bandage on his forehead to cover the 12 stitches he received to close a cut he suffered in Monday’s preseason game.

You know he is feeling fine because the offensive linemen were sporting bandages on their own foreheads during lunchtime.

“No headaches, no blurred vision,” Manning said, according to the New York Daily News. “The first night I probably had a little headache from getting the stitches and everything. But when I woke up the next morning I felt pretty good.”

The plan is to hold him out of Saturday’s preseason meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had not been cleared to return to practice yet. But the worst of the ordeal will probably be a scare he’ll have to live with for the rest of his life.

“Any time you have stitches you've got to be careful to make sure those things don't break," Manning said. "It's preseason. You have time to kind of get things healed up. It's just about being smart.”

The Giants are short on quarterbacks for the time being. Jim Sorgi has a sore shoulder that is being checked out so Rhett Bomar has been promoted for the time being and the Giants signed Dominic Randolph.
