Northern Illinois linebacker Perez Ford visits Chiefs
Northern Illinois linebacker Perez Ford visited the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, according to a league source.
He led Northern Illinois with five sacks and ranked second with 6 1/2 tackles for losses.
He had an interception and a forced fumble against Toledo.
He started every game at defensive end as a junior and had 57 tackles, five sacks and nine tackles for losses.
Ford was a second-team all-conference selection who forced a team-high three fumbles.
As a sophomore, Ford had four sacks and eight tackles for losses.
Ford rushed for 602 yards and six touchdowns as a high school senior and won a fastest man competition among Illinois high school running backs.
He was a conference champion and a state qualifier in the 100 meters and 200 meters.
Ford bench pressed 225 pounds 27 times at his Pro Day workout.
Twelve NFL teams, the Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks, attended the Pro Day.
