Olin Kreutz visits Saints
Olin Kreutz said he was considering retirement last Saturday after a deal with the Chicago Bears fell through.
Unless a good opportunity came along.
It looks like the chance might be here for the 13-year veteran. He visited the New Orleans Saints on Thursday and the club could choose the six-time Pro Bowl performer to replace Jonathan Goodwin, who departed for the San Francisco 49ers via free agency.
The Saints have been working with Matt Tennant in training camp, but Kreutz offers far more experience and could likely pick up the offense quickly.
Kreutz is also receiving strong interest from the Baltimore Ravens, according to an NFL source. The Ravens signed Casey Rabach as an insurance policy for Matt Birk but Rabach failed their physical. Now, Kreutz could be in the mix although Birk is reportedly out only a few weeks following arthroscopic knee surgery.
Look for something to get done with Kreutz soon.
