Osi Umenyiora finds another running back to trade barbs with

Less than a week after settling a truce of sorts with LeSean McCoy, Osi Umenyiora is talking to another running back.

The New York Giants defensive end, who ended a long feud with LeSean McCoy after playing against the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday, is daring Cleveland Browns rookie Trent Richardson to come run against his defense.

If (Trent) looks on tape and he thinks he sees come candy, come try and get it,” Umenyiora said, according to the New York Daily News.

Umenyiora’s reply came in response to Richardson saying earlier in the day he thought he could “get good yardage” Sunday when the Browns tangle with the Super Bowl champions.

“I think that if we cover the edges and run hard, no doing all this juking and that, one move and go, I think we can have success in the running game,” Richardson said, according to the report.

The Giants have not been great vs. the run as they are allowing 118 yards per game. Defensive tackle Rocky Bernard will not play with a quad injury.

There was, of course, some evidence to back up Richardson’s boast. The Giants have allowed 118.3 rushing yards per game this season, a continuation of last year’s struggles, and they’ll play this game without veteran defensive tackle Rocky Bernard, who has been declared out due to a quad injury.

We’ll see if Richardson finds the candy he is looking for come Sunday.
