Packers assistant line coach Joel Hilgenberg resigns

Green Bay Packers assistant offensive line coach Joel Hilgenberg has resigned, the team announced.

“It has been a great experience for me to be with the Green Bay Packers these past few years, and I am thankful for the opportunity I was given,” Hilgenberg said in a statement. “I feel that it is more important now that I have more time to spend with my wife, Jeanie, and our daughter, Anna. I will miss all of the great people in the Packers organization that I have come to know, and I wish everyone the very best in the future.”

Hilgenberg was previously the Packers' offensive quality control coach before being promoted to assistant offensive line coach.

“I respect Joel’s decision and understand his desire to focus on his family,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “We want to thank him for all of his hard work and contributions during his time with the Packers. We wish Joel, Jeanie and Anna all of the best in the years ahead.”
