Packers cut DE Mike Montgomery
In a move that potentially clears room for the Green Bay Packers to promote one of their players from the physically unable to perform list, defensive end Michael Montgomery was waived today.
Montgomery spent the last two games for the Packers after being signed on Oct. 15. Originally a sixth-round draft pick by the club in 2005, he will have to clear waivers now.
The Packers are believed to be likely to bump cornerback Al Harris and safety Atari Bigby to the 53-man roster off the PUP list. Harris and Bigby could be activated in time for Sunday’s game with the Dallas Cowboys.
