Packers fans shoveling out Lambeau Field for celebration
Tens of thousands of Green Bay Packers fans turned out this afternoon to welcome their victorious team home.
People took off work and pulled kids out of school to celebrate the Packers’ victory Sunday night in Super Bowl XLV, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. And the official celebration isn’t until late Tuesday. Tickets are being sold for $5 to an event that will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the stadium.
City buses took the team and personnel from the nearby airport to the stadium. Police and fire trucks provided an escort along a fan-lined path that had people standing on top of trucks and vans to get a view. Yes, they were still drinking beer celebrating.
Like fans do during the season, they’re going to have to shovel out Lambeau Field to hold the event Tuesday. It’s a volunteer process and hundreds of fans lined up Monday to assist.
