Packers have yet to order Super Bowl rings

The fallout of the NFL’s lockout, which is now in its second week, is widespread.

The work stoppage has hit home in every community and the effects, of course, will be more profound the longer it lasts.

Teams have been prevented from having contact with players and in Green Bay this has delayed the ordering of Super Bowl championship rings. According to Bill Pennington of the New York Times, the club has not ordered the rings because it wants to “consult with players” before making final decisions.

Presumably, when the work stoppage is resolved, the Packers will huddle with some key players and get down to the business of picking out some jewelry. We’re not so sure what has taken so long. The lockout happened March 4. Was something wrong with looking at rings during the second half of the month of February?
