Packers kick the tires on some running backs
Perhaps the Green Bay Packers just want to be up-to-date with their emergency list in the event a need arises.
But after running back James Starks, the team’s leading rusher, was held out of Sunday’s victory over the Oakland Raiders, the club took a good look at some available options, according to an NFL source.
The Packers put six players through a tryout on Tuesday and four of them were running backs, including Tyrell Sutton, who was signed by the team as an undrafted free agent from Northwestern in 2009. The other backs in for a tryout were Graig Cooper, Jalen Parmele and Walter Sanders.
Green Bay also worked out two defensive backs – Jorrick Calvin and Josh Gatlin.
