Packers make their first move in free agency

The grass wasn’t greener on the other side when Jarrett Bush finished seeing what was out there.

The reserve cornerback and ace special teams player for the Green Bay Packers took a look at options for himself in free agency. Ultimately, he liked what was waiting for him in Green Bay. The Packers re-signed Bush to a three-year contract today.

The only way he would have left the Packers was if there was a starting job and any big upfront money," agent Derrick Fox told Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "He absolutely loves Mike (McCarthy), Dom Capers and the entire organization. This kid has a great personality and he loves it there."

Bush made free-agent visits to the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals and a trip to visit the Dallas Cowboys was in the works when he decided enough was enough. The offers from the other teams were similar and all things equal, he wanted to stick with the Packers.

Bush becomes the first player the Packers have signed more than a week into free agency. They struck a deal with tight end Jermichael Finley before the deadline to place the franchise tag on players.
