Packers release three players
The Green Bay Packers got a head start on getting to the 80-man roster limit by Tuesday’s deadline as they released three players.
Tight end Spencer Havner, wide receiver Brett Swain and offensive tackle Theo Sherman were cut loose.
Havner dealt with some injuries last season following a motorcycle accident. He appeared in 21 games over three seasons for the club and caught four touchdown passes in 2009.
Swain was primarily a special teams performer. He caught six passes last season.
Sherman was an undrafted college free agent from James Madison.
