Packers rule out Clay Matthews with thumb injury

Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears due to further aggravating his right thumb injury.

He was listed as out on the Wednesday injury report.

Matthews injured his thumb against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He missed four games earlier this season when he first broke his thumb.

This has been characterized as a "repeat injury" by coach Mike McCarthy.
