Packers will keep ring ceremony private
It hasn’t gone over real well with the fans, but the Green Bay Packers are keeping their championship ring ceremony later this month a private affair.
The entire team will gather in the Lambeau Field Atrium on June 16 to receive their Super Bowl XLV rings. The organization received special permission from the NFL to have an event that mingles players, coaches and management amidst the lockout.
Lori Nickel of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that team spokesman Aaron Popkey said the team will keep it private in order to make it special for the players. The team has done several public events, such as the celebration at the stadium following the Super Bowl victory.
The design of the rings is secret, so it will be kept under wraps until June 16.
