Panthers extend three players

The Carolina Panthers have extended the contracts of offensive lineman Nate Chandler, defensive end Mario Addison and safety Colin Jones.

Chandler's is a three-year extension, with Addison and Jones both signing two-year extensions. All three players were entering the final year of their contracts.

"We think all three are ascending as players," Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman said via the team's official website. "This gave us a chance to lock them up long-term."

Chandler is considered to be competing for a starting spot on the offensive line this year. Addison was a rotational player in 2013 that earned two starts. Jones is a mainstay on the special teams unit.
