Panthers re-sign Richie Brockel, Garry Williams

The Carolina Panthers have signed tight end-fullback Richie Brockel to a two-year contract and offensive lineman Garry Williams to a one-year contract prior to the starrt of free agency.

Brockel was schedule to become a restricted free agent, and Williams was set to be an unrestricted free agent.

In 43 games, Brockel has four catches for 25 yards and four carries 13 yards. Last season, he finished third on the team with six special teams tackles.

Williams entered last season as the Panthers' starting right guard, but he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. Signed by the Panthers as an undrafted rookie free agent from Kentucky in 2009, he has played in 40 games with 21 starts in five seasons. Williams has started 13 games at right tackle and eight at right guard.
