Panthers re-signing Charles Johnson
The Carolina Panthers are re-signing defensive end Charles Johnson to a one-year, $3 million deal. Johnson declined offers of $6 million per year to remain in Carolina. He visited the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Johnson, 29, was cut on March 3. He ranks second in Panthers franchise history with 63.5 career sacks and 17 forced fumbles. Johnson nearly signed with the Giants. Follow me on Twitter: @AaronWilson_NFL Aaron Wilson covers the Texans for The Houston Chronicle.
