Panthers WR David Gettis done for the year
There are legitimate questions about how the Carolina Panthers stack up at wide receiver.
Now there is one more questions.
That’s because David Gettis, who was slated to start opposite Steve Smith, will miss the season after he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee. He was injured during Wednesday’s practice and had an MRI earlier today.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera had optimism for his young wide receivers, including Gettis, who caught 37 passes for 508 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie a year ago. Now, the Panthers will be forced to rely on another young player in Brandon LaFell or the recently signed Legedu Naanee.
