Pat Williams wants to continue his career
When Brett Favre rides off into the sunset at the end of the season, Pat Williams will not be alongside him.
Williams announced after the NFC Championship Game last season that he was going to think long and hard about retiring. That talk changed in the spring to giving it one more year and chasing a Super Bowl. Now, Williams, who turned 38 last month, says he wants back in for 2011. According to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the nose tackle told reporters he would like to play a “couple more years.”
“I've talked about it, thought about it. I’m still feeling good, I’m still playing good and the game part is easy,” Williams said. “So I’m still going to play.”
Where remains the question. He’s in the final year of his contract and there is no telling what direction the Vikings will go in. There always seems to be a market for massive run stuffers though.
