Patriots' Carter fined $15,000 for hit on Rivers
Andre Carter told the Boston Herald that he thought he might have avoided the fine for his hit on San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers in last Sunday's game.
Carter said that when the FedEx envelope arrived the knew exactly what was in it. The only question was how much, which turned out to be $15,000.
In other news regarding the Patriots, the team finds itself very thin at a few positions for this week's game gainst the Buffalo Bills at tight end and tackle. The Patriots released tight end Rob Gronkowski earlier this week with only his brother Dan Gronkowski available with Aaron Hernandez out with a knee injury.
The Patriots also added safety Ross Ventrone, according to the Boston Globe, from the practice squad to the 53-man roster as Patrick Chung had surgery on his injured thumb.
