Patriots cut Fred Davis

The New England Patriots cut veteran tight end Fred Davis. A former Washington Redskins starter, Davis was reinstated after being suspended indefinitely following a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy. Seldom used in 2013, Davis finished the year with seven catches for 70 yards. For his career, Davis has 162 receptions for 2,043 yards and 13 touchdowns.
