The New England Patriots released quarterback Matt Flynn and signed former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Ryan Lindley.
Flynn was signed as the third quarterback behind Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo.
Flynn had a hamstring injury.
Lindley has 11 career interceptions and two touchdowns.
"We don't have forever here; the train is moving," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said of Flynn. "I know he worked hard, it was frustrating he couldn't get out there, [that] we couldn't see him out there."
