Patriots’ Gronkowski ties NFL record
With his 13th touchdown reception, Gronkowski ties Vernon Davis (49ers, 2009) and Antonio Gates (Chargers, ’04) for single-season touchdown catches by a tight end. Gronkowski had an 11-yard and 21-yard touchdown in today’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. He almost jumped into first place late in the third quarter with his third touchdown of the day when he caught a lateral pass from Tom Brady. It was later ruled a run. One more touchdown catch puts the tight end in sole possession of the NFL record with four regular season games to go.
Gronkowski has caught a touchdown pass in each of his last five games.
