Patriots hold onto Devin McCourty on five-year, $47 million deal
The New England Patriots held onto one of their top free agents with a league source confirming safety Devin McCourty remains with the Super Bowl champions on a five-year, $47 million contract that includes $28.5 million guaranteed.
McCourty, 27, had 68 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble last season.
The former Rutgers standout was pursued by the Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.
For his career, McCourty has 388 tackles and 17 interceptions.
