Patriots' Mankins aims for playoff return
Guard Logan Mankins suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee, but is targeting a return to action by the AFC playoffs, according to the Boston Herald.
Mankins suffered the injury in the second quarter of Sunday's victory over the Miami Dolphins and did not return to action. Mankins will miss the regular-season finale when the Patriots play the Buffalo Bills, but has his sights set on being back for the postseason. That goal is helped by the fact that the Pats will have a first-round bye, allowing Mankins another week of rest and healing.
