Patriots not celebrating slim win over Colts
The New England Patriots were hardly in a celebratory mood after Sunday's 31-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, according to the Boston Herald.
The Patriots secured their ninth win in 12 games, but it was hardly a thing of beauty, as the game was tied 3-3 for much of the first half and a 31-3 lead was whittled to the final seven-point margin against a winless and outmanned Colts team.
“It’s kind of disappointing, to be honest,” Jerod Mayo said. “It’s a win, and those are hard to come by. But we have to learn to put two halves together. We have to finish so much stronger.”
Fortunately for the Patriots, this isn't the BCS or the Associated Press poll. There are no extras awarded for style points and margin of victory (except maybe in Vegas).
