Patriots release safety Ventrone, add Brace to roster

The New England Patriots continue to tinker with their roster, mostly making changes on defense where they rank last against the pass this season and last overall.

On Saturday, the Patriots were tinkering again - waiving safety Ross Ventrone and signing defensive lineman Ron Brace from the reserve PUPlist onto the 53-man active roster.

Brace played in 13 games last season with five starts and 28 total tackles. He was a second-round pick out of Boston College in 2009.
