Patriots sign Brandon Spikes to one-year deal

The New England Patriots have signed linebacker Brandon Spikes to a one-year contract, a league source confirmed. Spikes visited the Patriots recently. He played for the Buffalo Bills last season after playing four years for the Patriots. The former Florida linebacker wrote on Twitter: "4 years a slave" in reference to his time with the Patriots. Spikes could be a starter if Jerod Mayo and Dont'a Hightower have injuries. Spikes has 340 career tackles. Follow me on Twitter: @RavensInsider Aaron Wilson covers the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun
