Patriots smash Broncos, 45-10

Tom Brady tied a postseason record with six touchdown passes in a single playoff game as the New England Patriots routed the Denver Broncos 45-10.

Brady completed 26 of 34 passes for 363 yards in etching his name into the NFL playoff record books alongside Oakland's Daryle Lamonica in the 1969 playoffs and Steve Young in Super Bowl XXIX.

In contrast, the Patriots mostly shut down Tim Tebow and the Broncos offense, holding the Denver quarterback to 136 passing on 9 of 26 throws.

The top-seeded Patriots will host either Houston or Baltimore, who face each other in the other AFC Divisional Playoff on Sunday.
