Patriots trade Chandler Jones to Cardinals for Jonathan Cooper, second-round pick

The New England Patriots traded Pro Bowl defensive end Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for offensive guard Jonathan Cooper and a second-round draft pick. Jones had 12 1/2 sacks last season. Jones was due a $7.79 million fifth-year option this year. Jones was hospitalized two months ago after showing up shirtless and disoriented at a police station. He admitted a "pretty stupid mistake." Jones had 36 career sacks. Cooper is a disappointing former first-round pick.
