Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg declares early for draft

Penn State junior quarterback Christian Hackenberg has declard for early entry for the NFL draft. Hackenberg injured his shoulder in the TaxSlayer Bowl loss to Georgia. He sprianed his right shoulder. It's not a serious injury. Hackenberg passed for 2,955 yards and 20 touchdowns while playing for now-Texans coach Bill O'Brien as a freshman. He didn't play nearly as well after O'Brien left. "It was tough," Hackenberg said. "You've invested so much into a place and invested so much into fixing things and making sure it's where it needs to be." In three seasons, Hackenberg passed for 8,457 yards, 48 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He started every game at Penn State, compiling a 21-17 record.
