Penn State still chasing Munchak

Twice Mike Munchak has issued denials about returning to Penn State as head football coach.

But his name continues to pop up as the Nittany Lions still have not named a replacement for Joe Paterno, long after the window to hire someone from the college ranks has closed.

Munchak's name has surfaced yet again in the Penn State matter in a number of reports.

Munchak, who has been with the Oilers/Titans organization since 1982 as a player and coach, has said he is happy with in Tennessee, which is still in playoff contention as the regular season heads into its final week. A source told TitanInsider.com that there is "nothing to it" regarding Munchak moving to Penn State. Munchak later denied again having any interest in the Penn State position.

If there is a lure beyond Penn State being Munchak's alma mater, it would be that Munchak's family still has resides in Pennsylvania, but that apparently will not bring Munchak back to Happy Valley as head coach.
