Peterson in on Fisher interview in Miami

Long-time football executive Carl Peterson rode in on Stephen Ross' helicopter that picked up Jeff Fisher for his head coaching interview, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Peterson, who spent approximately two decades running the Kansas City Chiefs and before that ran the USFL's Philadelphia Stars, does not have a specific title (yet) with the Dolphins, but he is a friend of Ross' and sat in on Fisher's interview, which wrapped up around 3 p.m.

However, if Peterson has a defined role and the owner's ear, it could be that Fisher will look elsewhere since he seems to be on a number of teams' wish list, and wants both a franchise quarterback and say in personnel. With Matt Moore still unproven long-term at quarterback, and if Peterson is going to have a hand in matters, don't be surprised if the Dolphins are lower on Fisher's list than some of the other teams like the Rams and Colts who are reported to be interested.
