Plaxico Burress pledges to hit practice field Wednesday
Plaxico Burress’ comeback is expected to return to the practice field on Wednesday.
The New York Jets wide receiver told ESPN during the network’s broadcast of the Jets-Houston Texans game Monday night that he expects to be practicing when the team hits the field on Wednesday. Burress did not make the trip to Houston and he has missed nearly all of training camp with a sprained ankle.
It’s an issue many are not surprised with as the 34-year-old hasn’t played in an NFL game in nearly three full years.
Burress said he wants to “get on same page (with Mark Sanchez) as soon as possible" so "our passing game can go to the next level," according to the New York Daily News.
Derrick Mason, another newcomer to the team, started opposite Santonio Holmes in the game. He could be the more regular option for Sanchez.
