Plaxico Burress won't play in NFL in 2010

We can definitively report that Plaxico Burress will not play football in 2010.

The former star wide receiver and a member of the Super Bowl XLII champion New York Giants was denied his request to be set free from prison early into a work release program, according to the Associated Press.

The New York Department of Correctional Services announced that it rejected Burress’ bid, the second he has made since beginning a two-year stint in the hole for blowing a hole in his thigh in a Manhattan night club.

Per the report, Burress is eligible to appeal but he cannot reapply to the program until June, when most NFL rosters will be set for 2011, you know, assuming there is football of a professional variety played next year.

Burress’ bid was shot down because of the nature of his crime – carrying a loaded handgun in the city.
