Polian: Manning OK with Colts drafting quarterback

Indianapolis Colts vice chairman Bill Polian said on his radio show Monday night that he has spoken to Peyton Manning about the possibility of the team drafting the "right person" as a quarterback of the future and that Manning is on board with that scenario.

The Indianapolis Star, citing the radio broadcast, indicated that "The bottom line is that if the right person is there, and it has to be the right person, then now is the time to make that choice. Peyton and I have spoken about that, and he's OK with that."

The "right person" of course is Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, whom Polian admitted he will be scouting this week.

Earlier this season, former NFL quarterback and current broadcaster Phil Simms created a stir with his comments that Manning would probably lobby the Colts not to take Luck as their quarterback of the future. But according to Polian, Manning is fine with the team drafting a quarterback of the future.
