Price of tickets movin' on up in Carolina

The Carolina Panthers are on the hook for more than $12 million to Jake Delhomme, a quarterback who is no longer on the roster. The club is going to pass along that cost, at least in part, to the consumer.

The Panthers announced Friday that they are raising ticket prices for the 2010 season. Prices will be bumped up between $1 and $9 per seat. According to a report by Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill (S.C.) Herald, about half of the seats in the stadium will be limited to a raise of $3 or less.

This marks the eighth time in 11 years that the organization has raised ticket prices. With the Panthers going on a full-blown youth movement, they’ll need to get some young talent going to encourage fans to continue to plunk down hard-earned dollars for tickets.
