Purdue running back Akeem Hunt intrigues teams with breakaway speed

One of the fastest running backs in the NFL draft,  Purdue running back Akeem Hunt is ascending on draft boards due to his ability as a home-run hitter who finishes off runs. That's evident in this highlight video. Hunt has visited the New York Giants, according to a league source, and the versatile runner has drawn interest from the Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, San Diego Chargers, Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs. Hunt ran a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day workout. He had a 37.5-inch vertical leap, a 3.96 short shuttle and a 10-2 broad jump. Hunt finished his career with over 4,600 all-purpose  yards, ranking him among the top backs in Purdue history along with Kory Sheets and Mike Alstott. Sources predicted that Hunt will be a third to fourth-round draft pick. Hunt caught every pass thrown to him during his Pro Day. Hunt rushed for 949 yards and caught 48 passes last season for the Boilermakers. He played in the Medal of Honor Bowl at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. As a junior, he had 464 rushing yards and a touchdown and 38 catches for 340 yards and two touchdowns and also returned 24 kickoffs for 626 yards and a touchdown.
