Q&A with Florida International corner Sam Miller

Florida International cornerback and kick returner Sam Miller worked out for the Miami Dolphins at their local prospect day.

Miller had 33 tackles and two interceptions last season with six pass deflections last season.

The Miami native averaged 13.1 yards per punt return and 18.4 yards per kickoff return.

As a junior, he had 10 tackles against Middle Tennessee State. He had a sack and forced fumble.

National Football Post caught up with Miller recently for the following interview:

How's the draft process going?

Miller: "The draft process is going good. Everything is aligned. It's a bit nerve-wracking with the waiting, but it's going great. I'm just waiting for these workouts coming up. I work out for the Dolphins and then the San Diego Chargers."

What does an NFL team get by adding you to their roster?

Miller: "They're going to get a guy that's versatile that can play pretty much anywhere on the field. I'ved played corner. I've played safety. I've played nickel back. I've been moving around the field a lot. You get a guy with a good work ethic that can get the job done."

How about off the field?

Miller: 'I've always been the type of leader who can bring character to the locker room. I'm more of a goofball than a serious guy. As far as out of the locker room, I would never bring trouble. You're getting a good character guy."

What do you love about football?

Miller: "I played other sports growing up. I've been playing football since the age of six. It's always been my dream to play in the NFL. I really knew I could achieve my dreams of playing professional football when I was a sophomore and was watching Sean Taylor. It was a moment where I put it in my mindset and doing what I needed to do. I knew Sean's father. He was the chief of police. His family knew my family. He was my favorite player growing up. When he passed, it was so sad. I was just about to meet him for the first time."
